Q. Do I need a licence? A. No, not if you go to a shooting ground that has a section 11:6 form issued by the local police force. This means you may shoot at the ground without the need for an individual license whilst under the supervision of an instructor. Q. Is it Dangerous? A. Clay pigeon shooting is exceptionally safe in this country, in fact there are more deaths caused by golf each year in the UK than by clay pigeon shooting and more injuries caused by ballroom dancing than shooting too. Q. Is it as difficult as I imagine? A. Not if you have an experienced, qualified coach. A good coach will show you the correct way to use a shotgun, tell you where you are going wrong and give you advice on how to improve. Q. What assurances can you give me? A. I am a qualified instructor and approved by the Clay Pigeon shooting association. Q. Are you insured? A. Yes I am fully insured with cover in excess of five million pounds. Q. Will I have to stand in a muddy field for hours? A. No. Instruction normally takes place at the national shooing centre at Bisley, with its smart up-to-date facilities. Although we do use other locations for "Sporting" where it might be a little less civilised. In any event we will endeavor to make everybody as comfortable as possible.
